Deutsche Schule Toulouse Awarded the Title “Excellent German School Abroad”
On 21 November, the Deutsche Schule Toulouse (DST) was once again awarded the quality label “Excellent German School Abroad” as part of the Federal–State Inspection (Bund-Länder-Inspektion, BLI).
The BLI is the central reference for quality assurance of the German Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) for German Schools Abroad. It assesses, among other things, the quality of teaching, the learning culture, school organisation and overall pedagogical work. Only schools that meet particularly high standards in all these areas receive this distinction. For the DST, this marks the third consecutive time, following inspections in 2011 and 2017, that an audit team has rated the school as excellent.
The inspection report particularly highlighted the school’s pedagogical and academic quality. The inspectors emphasised the systematic and sustainable approach to language development, which leads to excellent German language proficiency among students, as well as the high academic standards of teaching, characterised by clear structures and effective support measures. The school’s professional organisation and financial management were also explicitly praised; the area of finance and controlling even received special recognition for exceeding the excellence requirements.
In addition, the positive school climate was identified as a key supportive factor, fostering successful learning and working at the school.
This renewed award reflects the high quality of the DST’s daily work and the shared commitment of students, parents, teachers and staff.
Our sincere thanks go to the entire school community — all students, parents, teachers and staff — whose dedication, trust and daily commitment have made this achievement possible.
