Art and creativity at the DST holiday camp

IDuring the first week of the winter holidays, a creative camp took place at the DST, where children had the opportunity to work on new projects each day.
While colours were mixed, surfaces designed and collages created in one room, unique art objects made from natural materials were taking shape next door. Many children tried out techniques they had never used before and combined them intuitively in new ways – this spirit of simply experimenting and giving things a go shaped the entire week.

Two cooking and baking sessions provided welcome variety. The kitchen became a lively meeting place where the children prepared snacks and small sweet treats together: weighing ingredients, chopping and decorating – everyone worked together smoothly, and teamwork developed naturally.

Between the creative sessions, the children used the school playground for short play and movement breaks. This change of pace was refreshing and often led to the children returning to their projects with new ideas, or wanting to try out completely different materials after the break.

What’s next: “Experimenting” Holiday Camp (20–24 April 2026)
The next holiday camp for the spring holidays has already been planned – this time with a focus on experimentation. The children can look forward to exciting experiments, creative discoveries and many activities that encourage curiosity, exploration and further thinking.
